EL PASO, Texas – Ray Davis, one of El Paso’s most experienced health information leaders, joins University Medical Center of El Paso today as its new Chief Information Officer, overseeing all IT and electronic information services and programs.


“I am extremely happy to have Ray join us as our new CIO,” said Jacob Cintron, President & CEO. “He has the experience and technological awareness that is required for a growing hospital such as UMC. Our new clinics, new systems and plans for the future are the perfect fit for Ray.”

With more than 35 years of hospital IT experience and leadership, Mr. Davis will work to ensure UMC leads El Paso’s healthcare industry in technological innovation and expertise for the benefit of everyone in the borderland. He will also work very closely with the UMC’s existing IT leadership and team, particularly at a time when UMC’s information technology capabilities are fast-growing. “This is really a wonderful opportunity to better help all of El Paso,” he said. “One of my first goals is to put in place a strategic plan for IT services at UMC.”

UMC, with more than 2,800 employees, has growing needs for exceptional information technology performance throughout its system, from the main campus to the many communities throughout El Paso where UMC’s community clinics are located, along with new emergency departments being built in northeast and east El Paso.


Mr. Davis comes to UMC from the Hospitals of Providence in El Paso.
